Last week during the VRBPAC and ACIP meetings, there were three opportunities for members of the public to speak for 3 minutes each. Anyone can submit a request, and both the FDA and the CDC were overwhelmed with people wanting to speak, with maximum of 20 speakers were chosen for each day due to time constraints, so they claimed to select those public speakers by a lottery system.
I personally know of at least a dozen shot-injured individuals who had applied, but were told that they didn’t win that lottery.
