No - what the researchers did was after a set (relatively short) period of time, they 'unblinded' the study subjects so they could see if their child received the placebo or the shot. If they had received the placebo initially, they were given the option of receiving the real shot.
Since these are people who CHOSE to enroll their CHILDREN in a trial that started a year and a half or so into the pandemic, you better believe most jumped at the chance for that perceived 'protection'.
So instead of having a set of children who did and did not take the shot weathering the same new variants that come along and see how well those different groups do, now we only have kids who took it, nor can we directly compare long terms side effects in those who took the shot and those who took the placebo.
ALL of the child trials (and Novavax too) did this. This really bad data that we have is the best we're going to get.

Because they don't pay attention besides the 'recommendation' the CDC has given, and didn't listen or look at the data they 'decided' it on. Nor do most even know HOW to find that information
