PSA: If you leave a hospital AMA (against medical advice) you are NOT going to be forced to pay for your hospital stay. Insurance still covers it.
This PSA is too late for many, but it is something to keep in mind when entering any healthcare facility for any reason. This is a persistent lie that existed before COVID and has been used and abused in order to terrify patients into acquiescing to the deadly (and lucrative) COVID protocols.
I myself have gone AMA 4-5 times and have been told the same lie. If you find yourself in any confusion as what is and is not covered, I urge you to call your insurance company and not take medical professionals’ word or the hospital’s word for it, especially if your insurance is private (I have no experience with Medicaid/Medicare, so I can’t speak to that). My insurance companies have always been helpful with explaining what is and is not covered to me and have spoken to the healthcare professionals directly on my behalf as well.
