Thanks for sharing. The article you linked to does say this about Medicare/Medicaid: A survey of nearly 50,000 patient medical records from the University of Chicago Medicine found that, of 453 patients who had left against medical advice, not a single patient was denied insurance coverage for their care due to their discharge decision. It’s worth noting that the majority of these patients had government-funded health insurance through Medicare and/or Medicaid.

Totally true. I went to the ER because I was sick and needed a breathing treatment (sent there by my dr.) I was waiting so long and they wanted to do all of these tests that I didn’t need so I told them I was leaving. And I did. My health insurance paid for the ER visit. Don’t let them scare you!
