Just in the last days, I have been contacted by multiple individuals about strange occurrences in their schools. One described sudden training on using an AED in schools and how to deal with cardiac arrest in children.
Another, more disturbingly, talked about a large number of children at the high school they work at having POTS episodes and seizures in school. On one day, before noon, three children experienced a seizure in this high school.
No one seems to be talking about this. Does anyone else have similar ‘anecdotal’ stories in their local school districts that are not being talked about?
My husband has been a baseball/basketball coach for years now. There is a video and quiz that you have to take regarding cardiac arrest to be able to coach. This has been going on for years. This is through CYO and also through NWOABL. CYO had a meeting with the coaches showing them the AED and where it is located. However, most if not all, recreational baseball parks DO NOT have an AED nearby that I know of. High school sports usually have a trainer at all games but I don't know if they carry an AED.
Reddit is a good source for candid anecdotes about Cov-related issues. Most of the people don't connect what's happening with the causes but that also means that they aren't editing what they're telling. There are forums specifically for teachers; you can also google AskReddit questions by theme.
