Just in the last days, I have been contacted by multiple individuals about strange occurrences in their schools. One described sudden training on using an AED in schools and how to deal with cardiac arrest in children.
Another, more disturbingly, talked about a large number of children at the high school they work at having POTS episodes and seizures in school. On one day, before noon, three children experienced a seizure in this high school.
No one seems to be talking about this. Does anyone else have similar ‘anecdotal’ stories in their local school districts that are not being talked about?
Question: does anyone have 'anecdotal' stories of medical problems in schools?
I work in a public middle school and every year we have training on using an AED, but nothing new and sudden with training- just every fall.
Not that I know of. But I will definitely be sure to find out now.
