I found the condescension particularly disgusting here: oh, really? Women have been having menstrual periods forever... and they know when something is off.
We don’t need a “study” to show that something was indeed wrong here.
Even worse when you look at who the study participants themselves were. These were young women, mostly in Europe, not using hormonal birth control and *13%* experienced greater than an 8 day delay in the start of their next period. That is HUGE!
When they said everything went back to normal quickly, they also neglected to point out that for inclusion in the study, they only needed one cycle recorded post-shot. How can they determine how further cycles are affected if we have such limited data?
I recall this back when this ran and how she was so condescending! What a piece of work. And today with more glaring evidence, I'm sure she'd defend every outrageous 'myth' that SHE said!
They will just say it was taken out of context and that YOU are the one who is crazy… this seems to be the modus operandi of every argument during the pandemic.
Stress...right! Stands right up there with all the "anxiety" diagnoses for #realnotrare.
I highly doubt all those women were "worrying about it" when and after they got the shot. Gas lighting per usual in the medical community regarding "the menstrual thing".
WOW! Too bad she wasn't around 60 years ago when I could have listened and learned I could just "think" those debilitating cramps away. Thank goodness I found a male doctor that at least eliminated the pain even though being a zombie was the trade-off.
I'm sure the bowtie boss man wrote a letter to JAMA Ped's apologizing for making a claim without evidence...which now turns out to be false in the presence of evidence.
Who was that lady anyway? Left my OB/GYN after all she did was complain about people not getting their jabs. Even complained that one of her own nurses , who was 6 mos. PG, wouldn't get one. Imagine that!?! Any good recommendations for Columbus area OB?GYN?
My liberal, scientist daughter who lives in Calif...I mentioned this to her as she has had problems since her 2nd baby was born last March. She had to have an ultrasound....again her dr and she agreed, not anything related to the her being tripled vaxxed!!!!! She reads the NYT...it is a real newspaper, you know!!!! I wonder if she read the article?????
"Initially, she panicked, but soon found stories online of other women who had gone through similar situations. It was reassuring, she said, but she still is wary of getting another shot."
....and Facebook took down a huge page that was dedicated to women sharing their menstrual stories. Can they be sued for causing distress?

Yes - check out Dr Paige Turner in UA. Never been asked about a jab and love her!
