College vaxx and mask mandates need to go. My senior is only looking at colleges now that don’t have those mandates in place. It’s a shame because Miami used to be the top choice. I am in total disbelief that these “highly intelligent” Ph.D administrators can’t comprehend simple research demonstrating the ineffectiveness of these mandates. I have a masters plus 30, did research and graduate statistics courses (from a state U), and can understand it just fine. Where in the heck did these people get their degrees from???? I sure as heck don’t want to send my rising senior there!
The thing is, higher levels of academia have LONG since stopped teaching students how to think for themselves, and instead focus on making sure they know how to jump through hoops and fit in with the other academics.
Why doesn’t everyone just walk out or not comply ?? I don’t understand..If everyone just did that . There would be no one in the school to teach .. so , everyone stand together at whatever establishment tries this and watch and see how fast they retract the stupidity !!
To add . A local restaurant in my neighborhood tried to get vax cards by people who made reservations…90% of people cancelled their reservation…guess what ? Three days later they dropped the request …power of the people still exists ..(not with the selfish ones ) but everyone else !
Globally, we remain optimistic about the course of the BA.5 Omicron subvariant. However, one of the challenges in many European countries and in the US is distinguishing whether hospitalizations are due to COVID or if individuals tested positive after being admitted for other reasons.
Because of the widespread use of Paxlovid and the likelihood of many hospitalizations to be incidental infections, the US likely won't see a large amount of severe COVID.
At this time, we do not think it is necessary to implement mask or social distancing mandates, but we do encourage national surveillance systems to track the underlying cause of hospital admissions.
This will never stop. Hoping the public schools don’t go there but it’s suspicious. The BC deaths are also sparse and many likely not from
Covid but with Covid and elderly. (I have personal knowledge of one) Thanks for what you do Kathryn.
